Waiting on Wednesday (17)

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

I am dying to read this book, the books I have been reading lately has changed a lot. I haven't been reading as many paranormal books but it doesn't mean I don't love that genre. I just wanted a change and I've read a few YA contemporary books recently and I'm in love with this genre now. This book looks like it could be a tear-jerker so I can't wait until it's released in January 2012.

Jill MacSweeney just wants everything to go back to normal. But ever since her dad died, she's been isolating herself from her boyfriend, her best friends--everyone who wants to support her. You can't lose one family member and simply replace him with a new one, and when her mom decides to adopt a baby, that's exactly what it feels like she's trying to do. And that's decidedly not normal. With her world crumbling around her, can Jill come to embrace a new member of the family?

Mandy Kalinowski knows what it's like to grow up unwanted--to be raised by a mother who never intended to have a child. So when Mandy becomes pregnant, she knows she wants a better life for her baby. But can giving up a child be as easy as it seems? And will she ever be able to find someone to care for her, too? ~Goodreads

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

So one of my all time favorite authors is Rachel Vincent. The first book of her's that I read was in the Shifter's series, it was the second PNR series that I picked up after being on hiatus and not touching a book in  over 10 yrs. I loved the heroine, Faythe and everything about the world that Ms. Vincent built. Around the time I found the series, I also realized it was the ending of it, which had me completely bummed out. I wrote to Ms. Vincent  to find out if there would be another adult series, and to my surprise she actually responded *it was totally a fan girl moment with tons of jumping and screaming*.

Anyways, I found out about a new adult series that she was writing. My year long wait is almost over, on August 23rd  Blood Bound will be released *Squee!*.

Most can't touch the power. But Liv Warren is special – a paranormal tracker who follows the scent of blood.

Liv makes her own rules, and the most important one is trust no one.

But when her friend's daughter goes missing, Liv has no choice but to find the girl. Thanks to a childhood oath, Liv can't rest until the child is home safe. But that means trusting Cam Caballero, the former lover forbidden to her.

Bound by oath and lost in desire for a man she cannot have, Liv is racing to save the child from a dark criminal underworld where secrets, lies, trauma and danger lurk around every corner...every touch...every kiss.

And more blood will be spilled before it's over.

You can read the first chapter here.

Waiting on Wednesday (15)

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

You know the books that you read just because they are entertaining, hold your attention, and make you laugh out loud. These are the light reads that you don't have to think about, that you can just enjoy. Well one of my favorite is Gemma Halliday's High Heel Mystery series. Recently I found out that she has written her first YA book that will be released in October by Harper Teen. I'm super excited about this, and isn't the cover beautiful?

Hartley Grace Featherstone is having a very bad day. First she finds out that her boyfriend is cheating on her with the president of the Herbert Hoover High School Chastity Club. Then he's pegged as the #1 suspect in a murder. And if that weren't enough, now he's depending on Hartley to clear his name. Seriously? Not cool. But as much as Hartley wouldn't mind seeing him squirm, she knows he's innocent, and she's the only one who can help him. Along with her best friend, Sam, and the school's resident Bad Boy, Chase, Hartley starts investigating on her own. But as the dead bodies begin to pile up, the mystery deepens, the suspects multiply, and Hartley begins to fear that she may be the killer's next victim.

This week I'm anxiously awaiting the release of One Grave At a Time by Jeaniene Frost.

So my recent addiction has been reading this series, seriously I can't get enough of them. I still have to read book 4 and 5 but I'm still super ecstatic about the next book.

Have you read the series? What do you think about it? Don't you  just absolutely adore Bones?

One Grave at a Time (Night Huntress, #6) Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans' voodoo queen just keeps on giving--leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity--forever. But how do you kill a killer who's already long dead?

So I recently found out about this book and I am anxiously waiting to read it. It has prophecy, war, and romance. Yeah it definitely sounds like my type of book. This book will be released on September 20th.

Once a century, one person is chosen for greatness.

Elisa is the chosen one.

But she is also the younger of two princesses, the one who has never done anything remarkable. She can’t see how she ever will.

Now, on her sixteenth birthday, she has become the secret wife of a handsome and worldly king—a king whose country is in turmoil. A king who needs the chosen one, not a failure of a princess.

And he’s not the only one who needs her. Savage enemies seething with dark magic are hunting her. A daring, determined revolutionary thinks she could be his people’s savior. And he looks at her in a way that no man has ever looked at her before. Soon it is not just her life, but her very heart that is at stake.

Elisa could be everything to those who need her most. If the prophecy is fulfilled. If she finds the power deep within herself. If she doesn’t die young.

Most of the chosen do. -Goodreads Synopsis

Can't wait to read this book, I haven't read a good witch story in a long time. The story sounds hauntingly beautiful.

Waiting on Wednesday(9)

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase
upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

I am excited about reading this book and can't wait until September when it's released :)

Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure-bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures.

Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but   she       may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:

Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden.

Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck.

In case your like me and can't wait to get your hands on this book, the author is currently holding a contest on her site Jennifer Armentrout where you can enter to win a signed copy of the prequel: Daimon. Contest only runs this week, so run over there and enter quick :)

This page-turning debut novel will entice fans who like their paranormal romances dark and disturbing. It's a natural next-read for fans of Stephenie Meyer, Carrie Jones, and Becca Fitzpatrick. Waiting on Wednesday (7)

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

This week I am anxiously waiting (tapping my foot and driving everyone crazy) for the release of Rachel Vincent's new adult series. I am a huge Rachel Vincent fan and loved the Shifter series (Adult) and haven't read the Soul Screamers series yet (YA) but, just purchased the first book. Shifters was the first series that I read in the Adult Paranormal category (Shocking I know) and I fell in love with this genre.

The first book in the new series is Blood Bound, although the cover and synopsis about the books hasn't officially been released. I did find this info on the book on Ms. Vincent's website (Rachel Vincent). Ms. Vincent posted a poll asking which cover featured below did you like most, because of this I'm assuming that one of these covers will be chosen for the book. If you would like to vote head over to her site.

Blood Bound by Rachel Vincent- Release date 9/1/11.

This is not the official synopsis about the book, this was taken from her website and I'm already sold on the series :)

Olivia Warren owes her friend Anne a favor. Anne needs someone found and brought to a very quick, private justice.

The catch? Olivia must work with Cam Caballero to complete this favor. The problem? Cam is Olivia's ex--the man prophesied to either kill her or die by her hand. It's a tense reunion, at best.

As Olivia and Cam chase their target through public streets, private lives, and a dangerous criminal underworld, everything they thought they knew comes into question. In the end, they can only be sure of three things...

No one can be trusted.
Everyone's lying.
And someone's going to pay.

Waiting on Wednesday(6)

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

This week I am waiting for the highly anticipated (I love this series) 6th book of the Allie Beckstrom Series by Devon Monk. As I decided this is the book I would write about I just realized that it will be released on April 5, 2011. Yay! I'm so excited now ;). Anyhoo, my wonderful friend (Heather)introduced this series to me last year and I'm so glad she did. Ms. Monk is a very talented writer and the world she built in this series is so intricately woven that it's unlike any other world I've read about. As usual I hate ruining any series by giving you a synopsis of the book I'm waiting for; so I'll leave you with the synopsis of the first book Magic to the Bone.

Anxiously awaiting release of Magic on the Hunt (Allie Beckstrom #6)

In order from Book 1-6:

Magic to the Bone (Allie Beckstrom Series #1)

Using magic means it uses you back, and every spell exacts a price from its user. But some people get out of it by Offloading the cost of magic onto an innocent. Then it’s Allison Beckstrom’s job to identify the spell-caster. Allie would rather live a hand-to-mouth existence than accept the family fortune—and the strings that come with it. But when she finds a boy dying from a magical Offload that has her father’s signature all over it, Allie is thrown back into his world of black magic. And the forces she calls on in her quest for the truth will make her capable of things that some will do anything to control…

Waiting On Wednesday(5)

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

This week's pick is The Secret of the Keepers, this is the second book in the Kailmeyra Series by Elizabeth Isaacs. I stumbled upon the first book a few months ago and I'm glad I did. I can't express in writing how much I loved this story. The story is beautifully written, the characters are well developed, and the world building is fantastic.

The second book "The Secret of the Keepers" will be released in the fall and the cover art will be released closer to that time. In order not to ruin the series for you if you haven't already read this book here's the synopsis on the first book.

The Light of Asteria (Kailmeyra's Last Hope) by Elizabeth Isaac

The Light of Asteria: Kailmeyra's Last Hope (Kailmeyra, #1)

Waiting on Wednesday(4)

Waiting on" Wednesday is a weekly meme, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that showcase upcoming releases that we are eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm in Richelle Mead mode. I just recently finished reading her Dark Swan Series, which the fourth highly anticpated book does not come out until January 2012 :(.

But, anyway on to this week's pick. I have chosen Succubus Revealed which is the 6th book in the Georgina Kincaid series by Richelle Mead. If you haven't started this series you definitely should this is the first series I read by Ms. Mead and have been a fan ever since. This is one of her adult series. Btw, did I mention I love Vampire Academy ( I was so Team Adrian) :)

Succubus Revealed (Georgina Kincaid, #6)
This book will be released at the end of August.

In order not to spoil anything for you I added a synopsis of the first book below:

Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid, #1)

Succubus (n.) An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men. Pathetic (adj.) A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid.
When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?

But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid's life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven't stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess getup complete with whip and wings. And she can't have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy's life. At least there's her day job at a local bookstore--free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can't.

But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle's demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won't help because Georgina's about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny...

Quote from Succubus Blues:

"Well, that depends, I suppose. I heard someone once say that men dance the same way they have sex. So, if you want everyone here to think you're the kind of guy who just sits around and—" He stood up. "Let's dance."
