Follow Friday (7)

This weeks question is:

Let's step away from the besties... What is the worst book that you've read and actually finished?

At first I thought this was going to be a really hard question to answer since books like that never stand out so they are easily forgotten. But, I think I would have to say Need by Carrie Jones and Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyers.

need picI couldn’t relate to the main character at all, I found myself skimming pages because I just wanted to get to the end, and honestly I don’t know why I continued to read it. I despise the “I just met you five minutes ago, but you’re the love of my life and we were destined to be together”. Ahh! Because life is not like that I actually like to fall with the main character in love. Besides that I can’t remember half the story now. But, this is just my opinion and I know that there are people out there who love this story.

Breaking Dawn (Twilight, #4) Another book like that for me was Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyers, Bella was just too perfect and although I love the series I thought this book was just sort of thrown together. I guess I just hated the perfectness of everything. Bella was great at this, Jacob ended up happy too, and the whole imprinting on a baby. Yeah I wasn’t enthusiastic about it. I almost put the book down several times, but because I loved the series I had to see it to the end.

So what book did you finish that you thought was the worst?
Happy Friday!

  1. New follower stopping by! I haven't read Need yet, but I despised Breaking Dawn. I can't believe I wasted my life reading that (and yeah, I finished it too).

  3. I saw Need on goodreads a while back but after reading some of the reviews decided not to pick it up. I liked BD but I understand the whole "they lived happily ever after" getting annoying. The only reason why I liked the book so much was because of the (non)fight scene and that was it.

  4. I felt the same way about Breaking Dawn. The whole "tabloid pregnancy" really turned me off. I don't think this book was really planned. It seemed to me that S. M. needed a fourth book, but wasn't expecting it so had to throw something together. I did like the chapter titles for Jacob though.

  5. Awww... sorry you didn't like the ending to the Twilight series, that's a let-down! Honestly, I only got as far as Twilight and had to stop there-- this was not a series for me lol, but that's just a personal preference... Breaking Dawn is popular this Friday haha

    New follower by the way!

  7. Yay for us and our BD hate aha. I also quite disliked Need. I liked it at first but...it just got sillier and sillier in my opinion.

  8. I almost put up BD too! Blergh! Hated it! I never got around to picking Need up...I think it was the gold lips that threw me off! I'm glad my cover bias was correct this time! Great blog! Just stopping through on Follow Friday!

  9. I didn't like Need either, it was hard to get into the story. Breaking Dawn was just horribly written but hey as long as it got people reading that's fine with me.

I think I kinda liked Need, but the other 2 in that series were TERRIBLE. Absolutely awful. BD was just so freakin long! <3

  13. Hopping through. I didn't like BD when I first read it, because it wasn't what I wanted it to be. But I got used to it over time and even came to like it.
